Great Northern Section competition!!!

Some very good action in the North end of the State.

The Girls side of this competitioon was possibly the best ever Invitational held in the Northern section for that group, with a ton of top efforts! Woodland High is always prominent, with 800 runner Katie Scarlett rounding into shape with a 2:14.93 win over Jenny Aldridge (Maria Carrillo), with the weight crew bombing in with Jill Camarena 48-11 and 155-05 and Katie McKeever 45-03.25 and 141-08. Amber Trotter (Ukiah) shocked with her 10:59.01 3200m that won by half a lap! Gilleon Smith (Mt. Eden, Hayward) took a great Triple Jump competition over Sara Iceman 37-01.5 to 37-01!

Some very good action on the Boys’ side also. Jeff Billings of the host West Valley team was a big-time pr in the Long Jump at 23-07.5! Kajari Burns (Hogan, Vallejo) had a nifty 21.76-49.21 200-400 double. Brandon Collins (Jesuit) continued up the ladder with 1:56.81 and 4:22.00 800/1600 wins, with Foot Locker National CC Finalist Jesse McLeod (Lassen, Susanville) appearing with a 9:22.00 3200m win! Greg Ross (Sheldon, Sacto) had some good conditions in the hurdles and responded with a big 14.33 personal best in the Highs. Chris Chappel (Douglas, Minden, Nv) edged Tyler Gray 15-06 to 15-00 in the Pole Vault. Looks like there will be some good competition for the lone spot from the Northern Section to state in some of the different events.
