throws over 150 feet. Her final throw of the competition broke the field record and came a little
over a foot away from breaking the meet record. Most years, Natalie Rogers mark would have won
sections and thanks to her final throw meeting the at-large standard was rewarded with a second
event at the state meet.

Hana Hall/UP, Britta Bundy/Chico scratch to concentrate on the 3200m. Replaced by Askew & Baseley.
Ashby takes point and leads a large pack through 800m. Tate then takes over in lap 3 and tries to
pull away going around the penultimate turn. It does not work as Harper, always running on the shoulder
of whom ever was leading, powers by going down the back stretch and stetches it into a comfortable lead by
the finish. Tate's exuberance costs her as she fades into the chase pack. A nice kick separates freshman
Heacock from the group to grab second although a late charge by Ashby almost catches her at the line. Not
sure what happened to Askew as she was with Ashby & Tate with 60m to go.

scratch, replaced by Rockholt, Ward, Taylor & Aguirre. Van Denend takes a momentary lead at the gun as nobody
else would lead. Hasting takes over rounding the second turn as the pace doddles. Only Matties, Farrell and
Fernandez stay close. Hasting accelerates a bit in lap two but Moore and Torres still manage to bridge the gap
to the leaders. Hasting ratchets down pace dramatically early in lap three putting a strain on the faces of all
but the leader. Torres is dropped while teammate Moore is stretched but hangs on while up front Hastings keeps
the pace honest. The lead expands in lap 4 even though the pace eases late. Farrell loses nearly all of a 20m
lead with 200m to go as Matties pounces. Moore catches Fernandez at the line.

off a relatively slow opening lap, less than half the field could negative split. Kayla Page leads
lap one but at a pace that drops no one. Harper, the section leader, takes control going into the
final turn to win easy. No one challenges Jones for the runnerup position until Murillos accleration

stay reasonably close. Duncan does catch Johnson rounding the final turn then for 50m no one gains an advantage until
Duncan is able to gain some daylight in the closing meters. Price closes well to take third.

Bianca Jones/WV scratches, replaced by Gaeuman. A tight race where Schillig has a half stride lead over
Fune and Wiley off the turn that is stretched to a full stride a barrier later and much more by the next as
section leader Fune has a disasterous ninth hurdle, losing all momentum (wrong leg or slowed too much to get right
leg over?) whatever is caught by teammate by the line as movitation is gone after losing contact with the winner.
Schillig pretty jazzed about the win, the only finisher improving upon their seasonal best in the soggy conditions.

Gisselle Flores/Hamilton City scratches, replaced by Richards. Bailey, like the previous section athletes
attempting to undertake the sprint triple, wins her first and last race but not enough rest after the 400m
to win the 100. Still a vallent effort coming away with two wins and a runnerup finish for her troubles. The
weather appears to adversely affect all but Bailey, going slower than at the division championships despite
superior competition.

No scratches. Once Hall gained the lead halfway through the second lap she never let go. Bundy dogged her
for 7 laps. A fairly easy task through the opening 1600m, but much tougher to do the rest of the way as Hall ratchets down
the pace. Lap after lap, Hall would pull away only to be drawn back in by Bundy until the Chico junior could do it no longer.
Noble effort that looked like it had a chance to work until Hall unleashed her brutal closing lap.

No scratches. Giannini takes the early lead, but after an honest opening lap is content to let the
pace slow, resulting in a large lead pack that holds together through 1600m. Then the race for first
is over, as the Chico junior drops the pace down and holds it there until racheting it down further on
the closing lap. Behind him, Grady also separates from the chase pack and is never challenged for second.
Much more drama for third as Chitwood, LeDuc and Matties battle. Matties eventually fades as he's the only
one doubling back from the 1600m. Chitwood surperior kicks allows him to pull away from Leduc but all would
PR. Both Leduc & Matties break 10 min for the first time.
