Despite an unorthodox hurdling style, Sanchez opens up an early lead and holds it to the finish.
Behind, Towner runs an inspired race as does Gridley Luevano who nearly catches the Mt Shasta junior
at the line. In an unusual development, the entire field runs personal bests.

Ava Devine scratches and replaced by Wellersdick. Holly Alchin graps the early lead with
Hanly, Esther and Whipple staying close before a little daylight develops by the halfway point between Alchin and Hanly
and the others. Hanly moves into the lead early on the backstretch and holds it through the turn, a move that drops
Whipple but Esther and Severne are still able to hang on. The two leaders match strides coming down
the homestretch until Alchin inches slowly ahead as Hanly likely feeling the effects of running a fast

Jackson Hein runs a quick but not overly fast opening 400m to string out the field. The Viking
sophomore comes back with a faster closing lap to seal the deal. After a quick turn around from winning
the 400m, Logan Borg takes a conservative approach to his opening lap then finds the energy to pick off the best
of the rest in the closing meters of the race in finishing a distant second.

a couple strides back. A wobble by Taff over the next set of hurdles gives Sanchez the advantage .
while Luevano separates from Jones. Another wobble by Taff over the seventh barrier drops her out
of contention. Meanwhile Luevano uses the gap between the hurdles to come even with Sanchez and a better
close after the last hurdles gives her a close win.

In what appeared would be a sit and kick race with Merrill content to let Mckinnon and Alchin set
the pace until the closing laps, saw Mckinnon have other ideas (likely aided by Merrill not being
completely recovered by a mid-season bout of COVID). Running the best race of her high school
career, Mckinnon ratches down the pace after a fairly conservative opening 1600m. Alchin's brief foray into
the lead on lap six breaks Merrill. Mckinnon retakes the lead with 800m to go. A brisk closing lap seals
the deal. Behind Chico senior Jasmine Guzeldere runs a very steady race almost catches Merrill on her way
to a huge PR (32 seconds) and first time under 12 minutes.

Quite the battle royal here between Henry Baun, who was doing most of the leading, and Charlie Brennan. Doud and Anderson join the party
for the opening 1600m but the drop in pace in lap 5 leaves only two. The tempo turns more brutal in lap six as a backstretch surge
gives Brennan a short lived lead before being repassed by Baun on the homestretch. Baun ups the ante close to a sprint in lap seven with
Brennan holding on until finally broken and apparently out of contention with mear 200m to go. Baun expands his lead to 10m rounding the
race's final turn and looks to be in position to secure the win. Yet with about 80m to go the wheels come suddenly off. His once fluid
movement becomes very rigid, so much so that he collapses to the track about 10-15m from the line. Brennan, briefly looking like he wants
to help his fallen rival, lopes in for the sursprising win.

Trinity upsets pre-race favorite Vikdings by building too much of a lead by the time by time their anchor Jackson Hein
recieved the baton. Trinity's four runners coming in with nothing better than a 2:05 PR peaked here with none slower
than 2:05 and two faster (an opening leg 2:01.5 and an anchor leg of 1:58.5) doing the most damage to PV's hopes.
