benefit of also meeting the CIF standard for qualifying by less than 1/4 second.

expands through lap 2 & 3 before closing well for a 15 second win.

Charlie Brennan scratches prior to meet. Jackson Hein scratches at the meet. They are replaced by Harrang
and Gist. Baun leads a group of four (Poburko, Cleek & Hein) through the opening lap. Poburko takes over point in
lap 2 but a slowing of the pace allows all but Harrang, Robinson & Gist to catch back up. A more aggressive penultimate
circuit by Poburko stretches the field back out, leaving only Cleek and Hein in contention. The lead expands further
on the final laps as Poburko drops the pace down to 61. Hein rebuffs a backstretch challenge by Stabel to take third. A
late kick gets Chapdelaine by Baun just before the wire.

Whipple, despite doubling back from her win in the 1600m, goes out hard making field chose between going with her suicide pace or
holding back and hoping she'll fade later. Only Csutoras is brave enough to try and stay close. The Chico junior actually
halves Whipple's lead rounding the final turn before losing momentum down the homestretch. A great run by Whipple as she

No scratches. The battle between Mello & Choi fails to develop as Hornet junior doesn't even need her best
as her teammate comes out flat following an hour break from her win in the 400m. Atteberry get her second runnerup

No scratches. Merrill comes into the race as the second fastest runner in the field and the only one with any chance
of upsetting Whipple. Merrill is fresh while Mattie has two hard races under her belt. In a head scratcher, Merrill does not
make any attempt to take the lead once the pace slows. So instead of taking a chance Merrill is blown away by the Yreka senior's strong closing lap.

Jackson Poburko, Noah Gaddy scratch and are replaced by Saku Sekiguchi and Sebastien Bernal.
Brennan takes point early and takes the field through a fairly honest opening 1600m (4:49). The pace
doddles a bit in lap 5 and 6 allowing some tightening of the chase pack. But a 2:13 close by Brennan
seals the deal. Cleek, once far out of contention surges past McLaughlin on the penultimate lap on his way to briefly
passing Clarke. Clark repasses Cleek while McLaughlin stays close fourth. A strong closing lap keeps Clarke in the runner-up
position. Behind Cleek loses contact with Clarke as the impact of running a hard 1600m are starting to show. Coming off the
final turn Cleek's stride cadence visibly slows, inviting McLaughlin to whip around his slowing competitor to finish third.
Cleek's lack of muscle control becomes even more apparent the closer he gets to the line. Sensing the trouble ahead Chapdelaine
gets him by a very rigid Cleek who somehow manages to stay upright and finish under the 10 minute mark.

No scratches. Strong legs by Alchin & Enos give Pleasant Valley a comfortable lead. Behind its quite a battle
between West Valley, Chico, Hope and Foothill. The Eagles big lead over the other three shrinks in legs 2 & 3 with
Hope leading Foothill & Chico until Csutoras gets the baton. She surges past Foothill in the backstretch, passes
Hope (Kropp) rounding the turn, catches but does not quite pass West Valley (Taff) off the turn and it stays very close
all the way to the line. Vikings end up about a straight away ahead as they step off the gas a bit after given a big lead

No scratches. A tight battle between Pleasant Valley, Yreka and Foothill as Borg gives the Cougars the lead after one
but Marinello gains a small advantage for the Vikings halfway through. Riley maintains this margin in lap three as
Foothill is passed late by Yreka. Jackson Hein's impressive anchor seals the deal (48.5).
