ocal Roundup: Silva leads Butte cross country in Rocklin By E-R Staff Saturday October 14, 2006 Butte College's Cesar Silva finished second at the Gary Judd Invitational at Sierra College on Saturday, and the Roadrunners Butte captured the team title with 34 points. Second-place Santa Rosa scored 49. Silva covered the 4-mile course in 21 minutes, 21 seconds, just eight seconds back of the leader. Butte's Manuel Ventura was fourth overall in 21:43. Other scoring runners for the Roadrunners were Zack Schliehting, who was fifth overall and finished in 21:50, Ryan Matz, who placed sixth in 21:54, and David Martinez, who was 17th overall, crossed the line in 24:12. Ryan Goodsil also cracked the top 20, finishing in 19th place with a time of 24:22. COLLEGE WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Roadrunners edge Santa Rosa At the Gary Judd Invitational at Sierra College, Butte's Tanya Bowers was fourth overall, running the 3-mile course in 19 minutes, 36 seconds to help the Roadrunners beat Santa Rosa. Butte finished with 59 points to Santa Rosa's 63. Alana Scheer was ninth overall for the Roadrunners and finished in 20:56, Michelle Cohen finished in 21:45 and was 14th overall, and Cori Eden finished in 22:01 to place 15th overall. Others Butte finishers included Sharon Tenorio in 17th place (22:13) and Olivia Baker in 19th (23:15).
