Knights run to top finishes

The Shasta College Cross Country team competed Friday at the Inaugural Jim Middleton Cross 
Country Invitational in Cottonwood. The women’s team finished first in a 3-mile race for 
Shasta with 30 points, followed by Butte College with 35 points and Feather River College 
with 59.

Placings for the women’s race:

1st — Bethany Rasmussen, Shasta College: 19:51
2nd — Mary Finn, Butte College: 20:12
3rd — Kim Crouch: 20:26
4th — Brit March, Shasta College: 21:30
5th — Marina Sharpe, College of the Redwoods: 22:13
6th — Tichelle Daggs, College of the Redwoods: 22:18
7th — Jasmine Lagrone, Feather River College: 22:24
8th — Sabrina Johnson, Butte College: 22:36

The Shasta College men’s team finished a 4-mile race with 43 points to take second place to 
Butte College, who had 20 points.

Placing’s for the men’s race:

1st — Sebastian O’Bergin, Shasta College: 21:43
2nd — Tom Dowdin, Butte College: 22:06
3rd — Phillip Graber, Butte College: 22:21:57
4th — Caleb Rosales, Butte College: 23:28
5th — Joseph Carter, Butte College: 23:29:07
6th — Michael Pappas, College of the Redwoods: 23:33:46
7th — Tony Perez, Butte College: 23:41:82
8th — Andre Moody, College of the Redwoods: 23:44:48

The Shasta College team will take some time off while training for the Butte Invite on Oct. 21.

COLLEGE MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Jim Middleton Cross Country Invitational

The Butte men won behind a Roadrunner-laden top 10, led by Tom Dowdin in second place, 
Philip Graber in third and Caleb Rosales in fourth at West Valley High in Cottonwood.
Joseph Carter was fifth, with Tony Perez (seventh), Fredy Carrillo (ninth) and Wyatt Roberts 
(10th) rounding out the Roadrunners' victory.

Mary Finn's second-place finish helped her Butte team share the same fate as the Roadrunners 
were topped by Shasta at West Valley High in Cottonwood. Sabrina Johnston finished eighth, 
Rae Haley was 10th and Heather Earl came in 12th place in the four-team meet. Nayheli Gutierrez 
finished 18th for Butte.
