Chico High girls, boys track destroy Yuba City in season opener dual meet Wednesday March 18, 2009 PREP GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD The Chico High girls track team was victorious in all but two events Wednesday at home for a 98-18 nonleague win over Yuba City to open the season. Anna Kurnizki contributed three of those wins by taking first place in the 300-meter hurdles, high jump and running a leg on the 1600 relay. Carolyn Kurnizki, her younger sister, won the 100 high hurdles and 100 sprint, and Kasey Barnett also had two wins for Chico in the long jump and with the 400 relay team. PREP BOYS TRACK AND FIELD Chico 80, Yuba City 18 The Panthers won the 400- and 1,600-meter relay races, and Dan Parker was a double-winner in the 1,600 (4 minutes, 31 seconds) and the 800 (2 minutes flat) in the nonleague dual meet. Cody Schumacher won the shot put (39 feet, 11 inches) and the discus throw (134-5) for Chico.
