Forrest Garrison/Sha 16:54 10.Andrew Pebley/Sha 16:58 Prep cross country Shasta, Paradise, Foothill at Chico -- Tyson Teesdale won the boys 2.98-mile race in 15:38, followed by Shasta's David Short (15:49), Foothill's Sean Jacobs (15:50) and the Wolves' Sean Cascarina in 16:00. For the boys team, Shasta and Foothill each posted a perfect-score win (15) over Chico. The two squads matched those wins with same-score wins (18-44) over Paradise. In the girls race, Chico's Hannah Dillard smoked the field in 17:27. Shasta's Shelby Randall was fourth in 18:59 and the Wolves' LeighAnn Krantz tied for fifth in 19:32. The girls team scores saw Chico down Shasta 18-41, Shasta down Paradise 21-35. Foothill did not field a complete girls team. Nicoara takes fifth Dianna McGlothlin finished in 13th place, Alicia Scarberry took 16th and Andrea Lee finished 18th for the Paradise varsity girls cross-country team, which lost to Shasta Wednesday in a four-team race at Hooker Oaks Park in Chico. Foothill, the other head-to-head opponent for the Bobcats, did not field a full team. In varsity boys competition, senior runner Ben Nicoara took fifth and Brendon Banwell took 16th in the boys varsity race in a meet which the program lost in head-to-head competition with Shasta and Foothill. The Paradise junior varsity boys notched a pair of wins against Foothill and Shasta Wednesday. Bobcat Jorell Dye was runner-up in the boys race, while Allen Nicoara placed 10th and Tate Montgomery, 11th, to lead the junior varsity boys team to wins over Shasta (20-35), and Foothill (25-30). Andrea Rice took fourth place in the girls junior varsity cross-country race, with Haley Breed, Signe Cornwell and Samantha Cornwell finishing in the middle of the pack.
