Pleasant Valley cross country teams sweep local meet Wednesday September 7, 2005 By E-R & Hay Bale Staff Pleasant Valley High won the boys and girls cross country meets on the 2.9-mile Hooker Oak Park course on Wednesday. Paradise finished second in both competitions. Paradise's Ben Nicara won the boys race in 17 minutes, 12 seconds. The Vikings had seven top-10 finishers, including Steven Heberle (second place, 17:52), David Bruhn (third, 18:01), Brian Santich (fifth, 18:10), Duncan Green (sixth, 18:11) and Zac Dickins (eighth, 18:23). Gridley's Jason Woods (fourth, 18:03) and Rudy Auvilo (seventh, 18:23) were the other top-10 finishers. On the girls side, PV's Hannah Hodgkinson (18:47) and Natalie Hickman (19:07) were first and second with teammates Haley Davis (20:13) and Tahra Soofi (23:59) also finishing in the top 10. Durham's Hagen Atkins (19:51), Annie Prentice (22:28) and Sarah Ellis (23:24) earned third, sixth and ninth places, Oroville's Kristina Brandt (20:10) and Amanda Sperling (23:11) took home fourth and eighth, and Paradise's Dianna McGlothlin (22:50) ended in seventh.
